Koi Neko v06 ch49

Archer finally had time to proofread this chapter. Archer does a thorough proof-editing job that extends far beyond correcting spelling and grammar mistakes, which I feel is worth the wait. In any case, the 11th volume of Koi Neko was released recently, and I updated its project page to reflect this with the cover and links. Surprisingly, the 11th volume’s cover is the first one not to have Sakurazaki Nao on it… actually, it does have a Nao…

Like I mentioned two updates ago, Ichinensei’s 8th volume is due to be released on the 12th of June, and I updated its project page to reflect this. I finished scanning the 3rd and 4th volume of Greed Packet Unlimited, so I’m debating whether or not I should order an extra copy of Ichinensei’s 8th volume to scan it myself.

1) Nateinu debinded the 7th volume of Koi Neko, but I haven’t heard back from him since I last e-mailed him over a month ago. If he disappears without a word like KamenWriter or Spiritovod, then I would have to order extra copies and scan Koi Neko myself.
2) Kamiya Yuu finished his first light-novel that he wrote and illustrated himself called “No Game No Life”. He’s still recovering from his surgery, but says that he plans to work on Greed Packet Unlimited later this year, which means the 5th volume might get released next year.
3) What I suspect to be the same anonymous scanner that did most of the previous scans for Ichinensei is likely to do Ichinensei’s 8th volume a few months after its release. The only benefit for me to scan Ichinensei myself is that I might have an easier time joining the two-page spreads. I believe the anonymous scanner crops the images, which leads to me having to redraw a sizable amount of art to join the spreads. Usually this isn’t a big deal, but certain pages like p116-117 of v4 and 056-058 of v7 required a lot of time and work for a mediocre result if one looks at them carefully.

Anyway, like I said in a previous post, Suihei Kiki released a doujin sequel of Mika ni Harassment, which can be bought by clicking the banner to Melonbooks on the lefthand-side of this website. Unfortunately, the PDF is password protected, which means a password recovery tool is needed in order to apply a patch to it. I own APDFPR because I hate, hate, hate PDF files. However, APDFPR costs 49 USD, which isn’t feasible for a casual user who’s probably only going to use it for just one pdf file.

Does anyone know of any pdf password removing and image extracting tools that are free and compatible for most operating systems?

In any case, this is how a patch works. This is the raw page:

This is the patch page:

This is the patch page being imposed on top of the raw page simply using HTML code:

Essentially, a user downloads the pdf file, and then extracts the images from it. Then they open an HTML file that will take the extracted images and impose the patch images over it. The patch images are rather small if they do not have any redrawing portions on them. The above sample patch page with a little redrawing for Koi Neko is 16.3kb vs. the 51.6kb of the raw page, and this is without compression.

In any case, I had this idea when people pointed out how J-comi is less convenient than reading a scanlation. Though, J-comi would have to host both the raw page and the patch page on its server unless it’s possible for them to code something where J-comi draws from the user’s hard-drive for the patch pages to apply the patch images to the raw images, but I don’t know enough about coding to know how one would do this.

——————————————————–

@Yo_L2: I import manga, which means I don’t have the luxury to leaf through the books like if I were in a bookstore, so it’s necessary for me to google the manga and mangaka for more information so I don’t regret making a purchase. Generally, this means I’m limited to mainly publishers and mangaka with an online presence. Of course, I do extra research for mangaka of projects that I work on.

Well, I hope my explanation for the patching process makes sense.

@Calc-Yolatuh: I had to try out various methods before I settled on a code that is compatible for Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Opera. Some people suggested really stupid things like tables… ughh… I’m glad I found out about “absolute; z-index:”.

@Drunkguy: Thank you for your efforts. Disappointing that no one responded. =\

@Anonymous: Actually, there has been efforts on the Somethingawful boards to make the users less horrible and bigoted. Though, right now it’s limited to their irrational fears and thoughtlessness towards transpeople and people with mental disabilities. I really don’t know if they’ll realise that most paedophiles aren’t child molesting monsters like how most homosexuals and heterosexuals aren’t monsters trying to have sex with other people that violates our current consent-based morality system where people ought not to exploit and take advantage of other people. =\

I saw the thread on Somethingawful discussing TVTropes, and “Ichinensei ni Nacchattara” actually was brought up in that thread. Though, none of them actually read the manga, and judged it based on what was said by someone on TVTropes who was defending its article. One thing that is inarguable is that Ichinensei ni Nacchattara does include risqe illustrations that definitely pander to lolicons and paedophiles. I don’t think this pandering is evil simply because there’s no peer reviewed scientific studies that indicate that this causes harm. Though, I’m willing to change my stance if there’s proof that it does cause harm.

Personally, I feel a little sorry for paedophiles, since they’re treated unfairly. Probably worse than transpeople even. In the past, women and children were being treated like property, animals, and sex toys, and even though we’re recently trying to adopt a morality system that says it’s wrong to take advantage of people, there’s still vestiges where people still think certain things are all right. For example, the logical conclusion of this morality is something similar to Antioch’s reasonable proposals, which were mocked because the violation of Antioch’s guidelines for consent would make a lot of people rapists.

And this is where I disagree with Somethingawful, their policy is to sweep paedophiles beneath the carpet, ban them from their forum boards, and chase them off websites as if they’re lepers with some kind of contagious disease. I think it’s better to educate and support people so they don’t make bad decisions. There’s a manga publisher that panders to lolicons and paedophiles that has a better grasp of the situation than Somethingawful. I don’t remember which one, I think it’s LO or Rin, but I remember someone showing off an advertisement from one of those magazines for clinics and stuff to help these kinds of people with their urges if masturbating to lolicon material isn’t enough for them.

@Nekochild: Ichinensei ni Nacchattara v8 is due to be released on June 12th.

@Calc-Yolatuh: It’s kind of weird, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a number of them are closet paedophiles. Kind of like how homosexuals that grew up in areas that demonise homosexuality take on an outer guise of a stereotypical homophobic. That kind of thing is really unhealthy because it does nothing to address their urges.

@waspire: I originally picked up Ichinensei ni Nacchattara because it was a genderbending manga. I took it up as a project specifically because it had material that panders to lolicons that might bother people. I was debating whether to work on Ichinensei or a shounen manga called “Soukai Kessen” that has subtle—yet obvious—homosexual elements between the male characters.

My internet has been acting crappy, so let me know if the download is corrupt. One of my proofreaders, Archer, is really busy, so it will be a while before the last three chapters are ready to be released.

Anyway, I just found out that Suihei Kiki, the mangaka behind “Mika ni Harassment” decided to release all of his doujins digitally on Melonbooks. This includes his “Mika ni Harassment” remake, which apparently is an all-age R-15 manga rather than an adult R-18 manga. So, I decided to create a banner for his works on Melonbooks on the lefthand side of this site (Refreshing might be necessary). Melonbooks accepts western credit card payments, but if anyone needs a guide on how to purchase from Melonbooks, please ask!

If you enjoyed the “Mika ni Harassment” manga, please consider showing your support by purchasing the digital sequel. I’m going to buy it as soon as my internet is straightened out. Suihei Kiki has shown goodwill by not including any DRM for all but the first couple douijns being sold on Melonbooks.

One thing I’m curious about is if the .pdf is password protected. If it isn’t protected, I’m going to do something unique that functions like a translation patch people use for games and stuff. Basically, it’s where I take all of the layers of a normal scanlation but remove the background layer so it’s just the redrawing, cleaning, and text. I then make an html file that takes the images from the pdf and uses them as a background image with the scanlation portion imposed over it. I thought of this idea when people pointed out how J-comi would be more convenient if it was like a scanlation, rather than the raw images with a text translation next to it. If this doesn’t make sense, let me know and I’ll create an example with one of the manga I worked on. I think it’s an interesting idea, because the patch images generally amount to 10-20kb for images without any redrawn art and around 60-120kb for images with the art redrawn, so they’re fairly light-weight and quick to distribute.

——————————————————–

@Yo_L2: Thank you for your patronage. It’s simpler for me to maintain conversations when I have something to say, which I usually don’t. It’s easier for me to respond to questions, though.

@Calc-Yolatuh: Normally, I research the mangaka of the manga I work on. In Shiina Kazuki’s case, his works are being published by Kill Time Communication (KTC), and they’re one of the few publishers that make their webpage worth visiting to check out the contents of whatever they’re publishing (they’re also progressive with digitally selling some of their works without DRM). Though, most of their publications are adult-oriented (NSFW) or pseudo-adult seinen light novels and mangas. Doi Sakazaki, the mangaka who worked on “Yomeiro Choice” was also doing adult works for KTC at some point (though most of his adult works were for a different publisher).

Actually, that reminds me, there was an all-age seinen manga serialised in KTC’s Comic Valkyrie a long time ago by Przm　Star called “NEKOTAMA!!” that was never compiled into a volume, which annoyed me since I was looking forward to it. I have yet to see the magazine raws for it, which is regrettable.

@Drunkguy: I rarely, if ever, post on Mangaupdates, either. Usually I only check the forums if one of the 5 recent topics catches my interest while I go there to report one of my projects. Well, if you do start a topic about J-comi somewhere, let me know (with a link). =)

Chapters 48-51 of Koi Neko are currently in the proofreading stage.

In other news, v11 of Koi Neko is going to be released next month, and Ichinensei ni Nacchattara’s 8th volume is due the month after that (June). Yay! Unless Koi Neko ends in its 11th volume, it’s going to be my longest project. “Gachax2: Secret” was 11 volumes long. Then again, Tamakoshi hasn’t listed it as finished, so there’s a possibility that it might restart in the future, especially since the last volume for Tamakoshi’s “Boys BE: next season” is going to be released next month. Tamakoshi Hiroyuki also did a one-shot that is similar to Gachax2 for Enix’s Big Gangan that is due to be released on the 25th of this month.

Finally, an editor called SemiBitter did p150-151 of Koi Neko’s 50th chapter. So, I updated my last post accordingly.

——————————————————–

@Anonymous: As far as I know, Batoto hasn’t bribed anyone. On the other hand, Noez has committed the very definition of bribery. An important thing in my opinion is that the person who runs Batoto, Grumpy, is willing to communicate with people and is open to suggestions. He explained why Batoto can’t have series like Ichinensei on their site because all of the ad networks that would allow it are insufficient for maintaining server costs or something, but he was looking into alternatives. Though, that doesn’t exempt him from the possibility that he’s secretly running Batoto as a business-like service no better than the typical bootlegger. But I want to give him the benefit of the doubt for now because the only sites I check for feedback for the series I work on is 4chan (through woxxy’s archive service) and Batoto. I have yet to find any other sites or communities where I can read discussions about my projects. =\

Thank you for letting me know about Hidoi~! Translators and their status with “E.A.r.T.h.”. I have the physical books, but I guess the raws would be nice. Hopefully they’re good enough for scanlation purposes. The first 3 volumes of GPU were actually scanned and uploaded, but their quality is quite poor (I used the 2nd and 3rd one so I could quickly do a rough-draft translation, though).

@Drunkguy: I hope mangaupdates will be receptive to it as well. If you have friends that might be interested in it, please let them know.

@Kemm: Yeah, I’ll probably have to contact Hidoi~! Translators to see what happened to “E.A.r.T.h.”. Though, if you or anyone else wants to find out for me, I would appreciate it.

@Ultimate: GPU is set in the same universe as “E.A.r.T.h.”, whose events are sort of the reason for the things that happen in “Greed Packet Unlimited”. None of the characters from the previous series appear in GPU, though. Kamiya Yuu was doing another sequel set in the same universe called “E.A.r.T.h. (the endless)” for Dengeki Comic Genesis, though that went on hiatus the same as GPU (I think Kamiya Yuu only did one or two chapters for it).

@Calc-Yolatuh: Yeah, I know about that. Kona and Haceldama hated that story because it was kind of weird and mean-spirited. I actually own the volume compilations done by Shiina Kazuki because they had kemonomimi characters…

Aoi Umi no Sashimi v01 ch06-08
Illustrated instructions on how to use J-comi’s Murasame Reader can be read here:
http://nanapi.jp/33023/ (Google translate)

Thus concludes the first volume of this series. The Torozoku arc is pretty much the longest and most dramatic arc in this manga. The following Garazoku and Sea Dragon King arcs are much shorter and less climatic, which makes me wonder if it was because the author was forced to conclude this work in a small number of chapters. Speaking of which, this is a gaiden series based off a past work by Nishikawa Shinji called “Jijibaba Fight” where Nagisa, Tsunami, and Osanai were minor characters. I don’t believe I have seen scans for “Jijibaba Fight”, which is a shame.

Koi Neko v06 ch45
Koi Neko v06 ch46

Nateinu sent scans for the rest of v06, so I can focus on this series again. I already did a rough translation and the rotation, resize, and initial cleaning for the volume, so all that’s left is the extra cleaning, redrawing, and typesetting portions.

Neko de Gomen! v05 ch35
Neko de Gomen! v05 ch36
Neko de Gomen! v05 ch37
Neko de Gomen! v05 ch38

Well, that’s it for v05 of Neko de Gomen. The next volume has only 4 chapters. The first one being 60 pages long. I believe I finished 30 or 40 pages thus far. Nagano Akane went back to her old habit of cramming as much pointless text as possible, which is kind of wearisome.

Ichinensei’s 8th volume is NOT going to be released this May. Ooi Masakazu said on his blog that it should be released in the first half of this year, so hopefully that might mean it’s going to be released this June.

Still haven’t heard back from Umeboshi for Greed Packet’s 5th chapter, so that series is still stuck in the proofreading stage. I don’t blame Umeboshi, since the 5th chapter nearly killed me when I was working on it. I’m not in too much of a hurry, since the series is still on hiatus. Well, once it warms up, I’ll start scanning the 3rd volume. Since Greed Packet Unlimited is a sequel to Yuu’s previous series “E.A.r.T.h.”, I probably should reread that manga at some point to see if there’s any terms used between it and GPU. I think someone was scanlating “E.A.r.T.h.” but I don’t know if they finished it. =\

——————————————————–

@Drunkguy: I asked lambchopsil if translations for J-comi could be listed on mangaupdates, but he said not for the time being. Once I’m finished with Aoi Umi no Sashimi, I’ll probably try generating a discussion on their forum board to see if I can get people interested in having the mangaupdates staff implement something to keep track of manga translations on J-comi.

@Anonymous: Yes, Haru is a reverse-trap. Which is convenient, considering how many projects I picked up under that category. This time unintentionally.

@Crissa: Hello Crissa. I’m surprised to see you here. You post on another board I kind of visit under a different name, though I don’t believe I ever spoke to you on there.

@Cloud: I checked both links, and they work for me. Let me know if you still have problems.

Sorry for the long wait. Both Archer and Kona have been extremely busy. Also, my internet was throttled to the point that I could barely use it for quite a while, so I’ll see if I can get back to working on my projects again. I’ll update this post when ch45-46 of Koi Neko clear the proofreading stage.

As for “Aoi Umi no Sashimi”, I think I’m going to do the following starting from the first chapter:
All panels will be split by a “=====”.
Thought bubbles will use italic text.
Sound effects will be bracketed with asterisks.

——————————————————–

@Calc-Yolatuh: Wow, I just checked the XLG and was surprised that they also worked on “Bakekano”. That’s by the same guy that did “Okawari Naporitan”, which I wrote a tentative script for the first chapter a long time ago when I thought it was going to be a magazine one-shot.

Speaking of which, I never finished reading “Yubisaki Milk Tea”.

@waspire: Houbunsha’s website currently only lists the manga being released up to this March, so I don’t know if Ichinensei ni Nacchattara’s next volume is going to be released this April.

@sensualaoi: I don’t remember the CVs bothering me. However, I do remember most of the BGM themes being nothing short of obnoxious.

@Galen: Thank you very much for the colour pages for chapter 50, Galen. Though, the 2-page spread has a horrendous amount of bleed-through. Hopefully it won’t be too much work to fix that.

@Drunkguy: Thank you for your feedback, along with everyone else. It is appreciated, and I feel much more comfortable now that I have a better idea how to do things. Personally, I’m hoping that the publishers will take note and allow people to transcribe and translate the text for their digital manga. It takes significantly less time to just translate the manga, opposed to scanning, cleaning, and typesetting them. So, it might be preferable in the long-term for a single person like me to transition to such a format. Though, the number of people unable to get the reader to operate does mean that I’m going to continue doing scanlations for Neko de Gomen.

Aoi Umi no Sashimi v01 ch01-04

Found out that I can edit a translation in English for manga hosted on J-comi. Feedback is vitally important even if it’s just as simple as stating that you read the chapter so I know I’m not wasting my time. I would like to know about everyone’s experience reading the manga in English on that site. Is the way I wrote the script intuitive and easy to understand, or is trying to associate a translation with the Japanese text cumbersome and annoying? Suggestions about how I can go about making things easier for you is very important right now, so I can do things better for the future chapters.

Also note that I wrote this by myself, so there’s bound to be grammar and spelling errors, unnatural sounding sentences, and possibly translation mistakes. I have three (four for Greed Packet) proofreaders for a reason, just so you know! However, mistakes can be fixed by anyone with a J-comi account, so this is kind of like Wikipedia or Mangaupdates.

Here’s some instructions courtesy of The Lion of Genesis:
1. The three options next to the cover are “Read in large size”, “Read in normal format”, “Read one page at a time”. The first two mimic an actual manga, showing the two pages one next to the other. The last one is the format adopted by most scanlations. I do my edits in large size, which I recommend.
2. Whichever you pick, do note that manga is read from right to left, and that includes the direction in which you change pages.
3. To toggle line translation, click the green-backgrounded balloon in the bottom corner of each page.
4. Pick English on the bottom option that’s faced towards the balloon (which is left on the left page, right on the right page).

Finally, one last thing, I PMed Lambchopsil from mangaupdates, and translations for J-comi cannot be accepted as a release for now. I think this also pertains to other scanlation information sites. So please don’t submit this to such sites.

Neko de Gomen v05ch30

Baby dinosaurs and a parody of Kawaguchi Kaiji’s manga “Chinmoku no Kantai” (The Silent Service). Actually, working on these chapters made me start reading the wide-ban vol.1 out of 11 (over 600 pages each) for this series. I think it’s rather interesting, and probably something Archer might like.

Neko Kissa v02 Ch18

Welcome to the Cat Gathering~!

Manga still in the proofreading stage:
Greed Packet (chapter 5 and volume 2)
Neko de Gomen (chapter 33-38)

Manga in progress:
Neko de Gomen ch39 (typesetting 30/60 pages)
Neko Kissa v02 (rough translation script)
Greed Packet v03 (rough translation script)

Also, make sure to check out the previous post for chapters for Koi Neko and Greed Packet Unlimited in case you missed them. Also, there’s one magic used in the 9th chapter of Greed Packet Unlimited that does not make sense to me. “フラフマンラストラツ”, and its romanisation is “Burafumanrasutoratsu”. Casio used this magic to knock away everyone around him. Burafuman might be Brahman or Brahmin from Hinduism. I don’t know how the rest fits into it. Any help in order to solve this will be appreciated.

——————————————————–

@david: If things turn out well, I’m thinking of doing translations for Neko de Gomen’s 7th and 8th volume on J-comi as well. Though, since I did a lot of work joining the double pages, I’ll probably still do scanlations of those two volumes.

@Seraphic Mist: Thank you for your time and efforts in that regard. Gachagacha “Secret” can be read without being familiar with “Capsule”. The only time there’s any reference to “Capsule” is when a couple characters from it appear in the last couple chapters of “Secret”.

@Anonymous: OK, that makes sense, thank you. Though, that essentially destroys all my plans to add a banner link to Batoto and advertise it in my releases until they do something about that.

@Mat: Unfortunately, it seems that Ichinensei’s 8th volume is NOT going to be released this March. Apparently, Ooi Masakazu is taking a slight break on it to focus on his other series. I’ll keep checking to see if it gets an April release.

@someloser: I haven’t had any problems importing risque manga, either. Though, I have heard some stories about people in Canada sometimes having mean-spirited customs workers getting away with all sorts of things since they have no overhead.

@moejedi: There’ll be more Ichinensei. Though, I don’t know when.

@Tsu: Thank you for trying. Hopefully someone else can help. Currently, if all else fails, I’ll probably go with Brahmin’s Last Rite. In reference to the shmashana ghats where bodies are cremated by the waterside and left to drift away.

@Calc-Yolatuh: I’ve been following Doi Sakazaki’s works. The last volume of “Yomeiro Choice” felt uninspired and rushed. I didn’t understand why it felt that way until I found out that Doi is working on a new serial whose title eludes me at the moment. Have you read that one?

@audio: You’re welcome. Nateinu is probably going to have scans for volume 6 sometime soon, so look forward to more Koi Neko. n_n

Proofreading for chapters 42 and 43 of Koi Neko is nearly finished. Just need the last member of the Proofreader Triad’s meticulous scrutiny. I’ll update this post when that happens. Also, chapters 5-11 of Greed Packet Unlimited are in the proofreading stage. Yes, I finished the typesetting for the entire second volume! Currently writing a script for the third volume of GPU while I wait to see if Nateinu finds the time to scan Koi Neko’s 6th volume after returning from his trip for the holidays.

Also, I received a package with Koi Neko’s 10th volume. I’m really looking forward to working on this series.

High School D×D is rather good. I only noticed it because Miyama Zero did the illustrations for the light novels. Normally, I try to avoid books that have actions scenes, or have so many characters that it’s difficult to keep track of them. Though, Japanese reviewers were kinda harsh toward Mishima Hiroji’s skills as an artist for the manga adaption. I’m curious if the anime adaption is going to be any good. The afterward omake in the second volume of the manga gives me the impression that the anime is going to be some fanservice-heavy, boob-bouncing anime from the way one of the characters was criticising the lack of bouncing breasts in the manga, and that it has to be corrected to be more like an anime.

Koi Neko’s 10th volume felt rather awkward when I read it since I was too accustomed to the artstyle in the 5th volume. Supposedly, Mashima Etsuya has been using 3D models to help with the posing. My favourite scene is perhaps when Nao redecorates Shinta’s room into one of those nightmare rooms. I was surprised to see Etsuya make a couple characters parade around in sexy swimsuits while bombarding the reader with a series of bust/crotch/butt fanservice shots in the last chapter. I felt like I was reading Gacha Gacha rather than Koi Neko when he did that. Speaking of Gacha Gacha, Tamakoshi Hiroyuki is done with his new “BOYS BE… next season” serial. I noticed that in one of the volumes while “BOYS BE… next season” was running, both it and Gacha Gacha were listed as ongoing, which gives me the impression that Tamakoshi Hiroyuki has plans to continue Gacha Gacha at some point.

——————————————————–

@Mat: Ichinensei was released a week early because it was Newtonmas!

@Anonymous: Yeah, they’re using Google’s advertisement service. So, it’s not much of a surprise when I think about it. However, that does lead to the issue that Batoto isn’t feasible to support until they switch advertisers. There’s too many series on there already that violate Google’s terms of use that Batoto listed. Though, Google was content to ignore such violations in the past until someone complained about it to prove a point. This makes me wonder, if the unethical online readers are all using ad networks like Google, it would be easy to get most of the manga on them removed if one complains to the advertisers.

@sandor: I failed to perform any of those rituals~! If I was superstitious, I would assume that might be the reason why I caught a cold on that day. While miserable, I did have a lot of free time to typeset Greed Packet Unlimited.

@Calc-Yolatuh: One of the cool things about Ichinensei is that it has appeal to readers who normally despise lolicon manga. You’re right about it not being surprising for it to be missing. What is surprising is that “Dance in the Vampire Bund” is on Batoto when it’s one of the manga, along with “Kodomo no Jikan”, that was used in an argument to make Google stricter with its advertisement service.

@Anonymous: I’ve been keeping track of things on Kamiya Yuu’s twitter. He’s been drawing since the summer Comiket, though he was too ill to attend it back then. He hasn’t said anything about restarting Greed Packet Unlimited yet, but here’s to hoping.

@commodorejohn: Since I haven’t seen the Japanese raws for the compilation on the net, it might be unlikely. I’m hoping Miyonescy actually manages to get another manga published in the near future, so that Boukun Tyrano-san might get reprinted. That way I can order a copy (I prefer not to order things used).

@Alex Vostox: Thank you. I hope you have a nice year as well.

Final chapter for volume 7. The only thing I’m certain about concerning Ichinensei’s 8th volume is that it isn’t going to be released this January or February. So, there’s bound to be a long wait until the anonymous scanner starts circulating high-quality scans online. Unfortunately, this is the only chapter that the proofreaders managed to finish in time. Archer suffered a serious accident after sitting on the lap of Newton, who promptly shoved Archer off in order to demonstrate the Law of Gravity to the surrounding mall shoppers’ gaping wonder, and I’ll leave what happened to Kona and Umeboshi to your imaginations.

Also, I’m still looking for English language forum boards that discuss the series or themes similar to the manga I have worked on that aren’t run by administrators who are trying to profit off other people’s work, or committing double standards in regards to whose copyright should be respected. Most of the users in the Japanese communities I visit abhor those kinds of sites. So, even if I didn’t take issue with their policies, I would feel guilty visiting those sites regardless. I spent a lot of time vainly trying to see if I could find a good one, but it seems most sites suffer from the above, or have some other problem (i.e. inactive like Mr. Sleep’s forum board). The closest I could find is this 4chan archive service provided by Foolrulez, which is really cool. But that’s only useful for reading, rather than participating. The archive reminded me, did you know that Boukun Tyrano-san has a second chapter? The compilation was only printed once, so I wasn’t able to snag a copy years ago. I assumed that the latter half of it would be some other one-shot, but apparently it’s a second chapter that depicts the aftermath of the dinosaur mental invasion with Kana not quite recovering from the ordeal after the first chapter.

Anyway, there’s 4 chapters of Koi Neko and 5 chapters of Greed Packet Unlimited sitting in the proofreading stage. Greed Packet’s 9th chapter is 1/3 complete.

——————————————————–

@Seraphic Mist: I just noticed Ichinensei was removed from Batoto due to it not meeting their advertisers’ policies. Looking at the conditions, all characters visually or described as 17 years-old or younger depicted sexually in any way isn’t allowed. Wouldn’t that exclude Greed Packet Unlimited from Batoto as well, since Nokia is definitely under 18 years-old (Nokia is 2 years-old)? Then again, I noticed To Love Ru Darkness on Batoto, which has people under the age of 18 fondling and masturbating each other and whatnot, so I don’t know. Well, regardless, thank you for your efforts.

@sandor: You should do some more analysis. I find it interesting, even if I can’t think of anything to say in regards to it.

@moejedi: Your guess is as good as mine. I figure Ichinensei will continue until Masakazu-sensei takes an arrow to his knee. Figuratively.

@Mat: Happy Holidays to you as well.

@sandor: If you look at the top-left corner, you’ll notice that it’s supposed to be “1+7=8″. Ichinensei is full of mistakes like that.

Special thanks to nateinu for scanning the entire 5th volume. Sorry for the long delay. Koi Neko ch38 and Greed Packet chapters 1, 4, and 5 are still being proofread. Neko de Gomen ch26 is also being proofread, and ch27 is about halfway finished.

I’ll update this entry as each chapter is finished.

——————————————————–

@viaggero: Do those RAWs contain colour pages? I don’t read magazine scans, and prefer to wait until the book is compiled before I read Ichinensei.

@Chore Boy: Thank you. Someone was kind enough to upload Koi Neko and Neko de Gomen to Batoto. I really don’t have the time, or a good enough internet connection to upload my project archive to another site. Even if it’s one volume, I would appreciate it very much if you or someone else were to take the time to do so.

Speaking of watermarks, I made a post on mangaupdates with a watermark suggestion for the groups that insist on using unsightly watermwarks asking the reader not to mirror their releases here. Though, the suggestion leans toward being facetious.

@Aaron: You’re welcome, and thank you. Ichinensei v07 p106 reads, “Let’s wash our hands after playing outside, bye-bye kiii~iiin.”

@moejedi: Actually, toward the bottom of the left-hand menu is a link to my hentai projects. Some of them are by really, really messed up people. Particularly the ones by Kobayashi Shounenmaru, who is like a mix between Shintaro Kago and Maruo Suehiro. The latter of which fortunately moved on to doing all-age stories (since most of his fans aren’t into the whole BDSM hentai thing).

@sandor: As far as I know, Kamiya Yuu hasn’t done anything official with the Touhou Project, just fanart, fancomics, fangames, etc. (unless participating at a doujin event like Reitaisai counts, but that would include thousands of others like Toto Nemigi).

@Anonymous: Chapters four and five of Greed Packet Unlimited will be uploaded as soon as they’re finished being proofread. I scanned and cleaned the entire second volume.
