Koi Neko v02 ch17

It’s dangerous not being able to stop.

When I was reading this manga a couple years ago, this was my favourite chapter in the second volume with one of my favourite Nao moments (Another one was when Nao sings her song, “The Revenge~!”).

@Spiritovod: You’re welcome. Thank you very much for the scans.

@Lenturix: I see what you mean about some of the text in the coloured pages being somewhat hard on the eyes in the first chapter of Greed Packet Unlimited. Though, I don’t think it looks very good if I leave out the white border surrounding the black text. I’ll experiment with some other settings like Outer Glow to see if I can relieve some tension from the eyes.

@Lifi: I don’t think I’m going to leave keitai untranslated in any story besides Greed Packet Unlimited. The main reason I left it for Greed Packet is because “Mobile Phone User” sounds a little clunky, whereas “Keitai User” easily rolls off the tongue. That and keitai gives the job class a slightly exotic flair.

Greed Packet Unlimited v01 ch01

Spiritovod was kind enough to provide the scans for this chapter in a high quality. This is Kamiya Yuu’s second serial after a story called E.A.r.T.h. (This is also being scanlated, and I highly recommend checking it out). I think the most distinguishable trait about this mangaka is the way he colours his illustrations—they’re very bright and mesmerising.

Anyway, sorry about the long delay, Koi Neko’s 17th chapter is finished but still needs to be proofread, and Neko de Gomen’s 7th chapter is about 13 pages away from being fully cleaned (it should only take a couple days to typeset it).

@Nikkou: Speaking of Mita Ryuusuke, it seems he’s in the middle of building a new website for his stories here:

As for his stories after Dragon Half. I read his second longest serial Dark Hair Captured, his other serial Rubikura, and his last single compilation work called Kaizou Shoujo. The last few years, Mita Ryusuke has only been doing hentai manga (I only read the first one he did called Rose Rosse).

Out of all of them, Dark Hair Captured is probably the best. Unlike Dragon Half, Mita Ryuusuke actually attempted to create a slightly serious story with appropriate dosages of his trademark super-deformed gags. It’s about a boy called Captured whose father somehow managed to travel to another world where all of the inhabitants have blonde hair. I think the father married a woman over there and had the boy but it’s been so long. Predictably, Captured spent a childhood suffering from all sorts of discrimination over his black hair (I think he’s half-Japanese) until he discovered real ultimate power called General. At some point, the ruler of the planet, Mother, decided that Captured should die and sends all sorts of horrifyingly deadly bounty hunters and assassins to kill Captured who is trying to help his father strike it rich so they can return to Earth.

Rubikura is kind of so-so. Basically, gigantic rhinoceros beetles are the natural enemies of human beings, and they destroy the protagonist’s hometown, killing his parents and kidnapping his younger sister which leads to him forsaking his humanity to become the natural enemy of the gigantic rhinoceros beetles in order to get revenge (not that he can make much of an impact since the entire world is covered with them). The only other thing I can remember is that Rubi’s best friend and partner is a flaming homosexual, and that the female protagonist’s master is seemingly next to useless yet claims that his magic spells gives the entire party absolute victory.

Kaizou Shoujo is about a family whose parents run up some insane (gambling?) debts that they pay off by selling their three children’s bodies to medical science. To be nice, the scientists installed the children’s brains into robots. The youngest daughter became a maintenance robot, the oldest son became a cleaning robot, and the oldest daughter became a pleasure robot (there’s porn magazines stuffed inside her robotic skull). The children spend their time trying to make enough money to buy back their humanity while also trying to find their no-good parents.

@guest: Thank you for the link.

Ichinensei ni Nacchattara v03 ch19

Ichinensei ni Nacchattara v03 ch20

Thus ends the third volume of Ichinensei ni Nacchattara. As Gaven pointed out, the fourth volume is going to be released on the 12th of next month. Looking at the last couple chapter’s summary on the magazine’s homepage, it seems like Ichinensei might continue for at least a fifth volume.

@tazmanain: You’re welcome. Thank you for pointing out that error.

@acme: Indeed, there’s plenty of other old series that haven’t had an English translation yet which is a shame. I personally wouldn’t mind more people showing interest in localising some of Mita Ryuusuke’s works in English.

@E: Thank you for pointing out that error.

@Tau_002: Yes, I learned it just like I learned English, though I prefer whoever’s answer.

@whoever: You win. To be honest, I don’t really understand your question, do you mean scanlation commissioners, manga localisers, or some other possible occupation?

@Galen: You’re welcome. Thank you for the information. I noticed that Neko Kissa’s 5th volume was due next month as well, another manga that I’m looking forward to.

@Spiritovod: Thank you very much for going through all of the trouble to scan it. Don’t worry about taking your time, I have plenty of other things to work on in the meanwhile. n_n
