New: Ichinensei ni Nacchattara v9 ch60 (end); Koi Neko v11 ch84

Ichinensei ni Nacchattara v9 ch60 (end)
Koi Neko v11 ch84

I’m sorry for taking so long to will myself to correct these chapters. I might not be able to finish Koi Neko due to issues where I can’t in good conscience visit any manga-related communities (e.g. Batoto) to read feedback on my projects due to the people running them being incorrigibly greedy and just plain awful individuals. I couldn’t bring myself to send an e-mail to Archer and Kona about ch87 being in need of proofreading, but I think I can force myself to correct ch85-86 of Koi Neko at the very least. I typesetted 6/24 of ch88, but I had to stop because I kept wasting time having negative thoughts.

It’s highly likely that I’ll remain unable to work on my scanlation projects, since I doubt there’s any chance of something improving my mood. So, please feel free to give me a date if you want me to upload the psd files for the rest of Koi Neko and Greed Packet Unlimited. If I don’t finish anything before that date, I’ll upload the files so everyone that had proofreader privileges can do whatever they want with them.

I’m exhausted from deleting several thousand spam bot comments, so I can’t respond to the comments in the past entry right now. If your comment got deleted by mistake, please let me know, so I can try and restore it. I’ll try and go through all of them, and write a reply for each one later.

F**K all those a-holes, you still have people who visit this site regularly, and i can say with full certanty that each of us want to see you cheer up. (and for the a-holes to stop being little f**kers)

  2. Ogoru says:

Thank you very much and thanks for the hard work …

Thanks for finishing up Ichinensei ni Nacchattara, I have been dropping by randomly to check on it and today I got lucky! The chapter looked great, in particular the extra large double pages.

I am sorry to hear about your troubles. I have been following Koi Neko over at Batoto because they seem to be hapless rather than evil, but being on the outside looking in, I get to miss all sorts of things I am glad to not be aware of. Even if it does not seem so at times, there are many people out there like me who are grateful that you have taken the time and effort to bring these mangas to us and to do so with such obvious care and attention to detail. I am sure things will look up for you in the future. :)

I hope I’m not the only one to say how happy I’ve been to read your scanlations of Koi Neko. It’s such a sweet story. There are many hundreds of follower on, er, that website you mentioned. I pray you find the will to finish it!

  5. IamMe says:

I thank you for all your hard work as well. I’ve only been on that site once or twice and never really bothered to read the comments. Sounds like they are getting full of themselves. I’m sure there are many others besides me that really enjoy the work you do.

Just ignore the idiots that feel entitled to give an opinion on something they probably don’t care about.

  6. Grateful_If_Silent says:

Thank you for bringing this last chapter to us. I know it can be really hard to find motivation when depression hits you hard. Please take care of yourself. I know you never said anything about this, and I don’t want to make assumptions, but if things are feeling hopeless, and you’re considering doing something dangerous, maybe go to the below site, to talk to someone? There’s nothing wrong with talking to people about your worries.

Maybe I’m overreacting, so I’m sorry if I’m blowing things out of proportion. I just want you to be safe, even if I’ve never said anything to you before now. You do matter.

    Yay Koi neko!~ *hugs taruby*

I just only recently started reading this manga (about a year ago) and I want to thank you tremendously for scanlating this charming manga. I can’t begin to imagine how much work you and your team poured into it, but every laugh, every smile I make from reading this is a result from your love for this medium.

I sorry that you are being hounded by ungrateful fans. If you choose to quit, then the only thing I will do is say “You have my full support and most importantly, thank you for filling my afternoons laughs with the charming story of a cat and boy”

If you choose to continue, rest assured, this fan is here to stay; cheering you on from the other end of the computer screen.

Whatever you choose, as stated before, you have my full support. Either way, I wish you the best of luck.

How the hell you managed to continue for so long, I have no idea. I have a problem sticking to a project if it takes more than a month, let alone several years (I even gave up reading Ichinensei because I got bored. Nothing to do with your translation, it’s just one of those things. I have the last two volumes of Negima on my desk waiting to be read, if I can be bothered to pick them up.)

Just wish you’d finish Koi Neko. Love that series. Don’t care if it takes a couple of months or a couple of years, I’d love to finish your translation of it.

Well, what ever you choose to do, I wish you the best of luck in your endeavours.

    Seeya sometime.

First of all thank you so much for all your work on Koi Neko, I’ve been following that for a while and I’m very grateful for the work you’ve done on it.

I use batoto mostly so I am horrified that you were having so many issues from folks there.
I can’t blame you if you stop with this even though I’d be sad to see it stop…

I know just me won’t help with the majority of folks there, but I wanted to say thanks for everything…

  11. nateinu says:

I don’t know who has been talking bad about you, but they obviously know nothing about scanlation. You are one of the kindness most hardworking individuals I have met in a very very long time. Regardless of whether you finish Koi Neko this year, next year, or ever, know that I support you and consider you to be a good friend. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you in any matter. You have my email.

  12. Leso says:

You are great, don’t let anything make you think otherwise.

  13. Tasma says:

I adore reading Koi Neko, so every update from you makes my heart soar. <3

I'm sorry that people are getting you down, it sucks. People suck. But you'll always have people who appreciate you. Like all of your fans on here. <3 Hang in there.

  14. Moei says:

*says nice things because wants more koi neko*

No, really, I am happy you have been doing the work to get koi neko out. Personally I do not know anything about these greedy/awful individuals, and I wish this wasn’t the case. I have no idea how this whole situation works, but I wish it could be resolved somehow.

Though, thank you for all the hard work you have put into releasing koi neko so far ^^

  15. goober says:

Man, I can’t even bring myself to read Ichinensei anymore…I’ll finish it someday. Gonna miss Koi Neko though.

I don’t know what’s going on with Batoto (sounds like I should re-enable adblock) but you’re one of the better people out there. Thanks for everything and good luck with your future endeavors.

Take it easy Taruby! You can still have people giving you their feedback here! To be honest looking at threads in wherever you look there aren’t that many people posting on sites like batoto than in your blog to begin with.
And I can understand your aversion toward hypocrite people like the people in batoto. Personally I avoid their site at all prices because I really don’t like them either, going as far as tackling with idiots in 4chan who seem to viral this site for some reason, which is kinda pathetic considering batoto is pretty much run by the kind of people most of them dislike.

  17. Anonymous says:

Mmmm did my previous post just get eaten by anti-spam? Anyway take it easy and yeh I don’t like Batoto either.

  18. Geese1 says:

Thanks very much for the new release of Koi Neko. I’m really sad to hear you’re planning on dropping it, and I do hope you reconsider. If you decide to call it quits though, I just want to thank-you for all the work you’ve done so far, and I hope you’re able to return back to us someday!

  19. Relgoshan says:

Yeah I’ve been staying away from Potato and most of the other sites. Crazy’s is much smaller than them and I do not think the ads have ever turned a profit :/ We’ve lost some good titles to licensing but there are no dumbass commentards. Screw the big sites, latest casualty is senmanga raws rapidly going downhill with watermarks and video ads…

Don’t stress yourself over community demands, if you need time away I hope you find something else that brings a little happiness.

  20. nooneatall says:

Just wanted to give you my sincere thanks for all your efforts on Ichinensei & Koi Neko. Sorry that RL is dragging you down, but know that your work has been greatly appreciated by myself and others.

  21. m1ndbre4k says:

    We’ve got your back :)

  22. archer360 says:

I know you’re at a moment of making a turning point of your life, regardless of your decision in future, I’d like to compress my gratitude feeling in 2 words: “thank you” – thank you for bringing us such good mangas (I sometimes drop by to check out greed packet and always hope you will find some help someday)

I couldn’t do anything but wish you may regain your motivations some day, wish you may find a new joy after those darkness hours, may you always healthy and happy.

    My sincere gratitude!

  23. shiny says:

Like everyone else, I’m grateful for all the work you’ve done over the years and it’s unfortunate to hear you’ve been feeling down. Definitely happy you finished Ichinensei, and still enjoying Koi Neko. I know scanlating can drain the motivation out of a person fast, especially with how entitled some readers can be. I’ll just keep on hoping you continue on, regardless of how long it is between releases(so close to the end of Neko!) though I can’t hold it against you if you do decide to stop. Take care of yourself, and don’t be afraid to vent a little more! :D

  24. waterbottle says:

    thanks for finishing ichinensei!

  25. Langly says:

    Eh, so Ichinensei is over…
I was pretty disappointed by that series, in my eyes it became really bad really quick when they started with that stupid robot and fighting bs.

It’s especially sad since I don’t know many series like that but I’m sill thankful that you finished it. Every other series I followed was just abandoned :(

  26. Dory says:

    TL;DR: let me help.

I would be very sad seeing Koi Neko left unfinished. I have been following it for a very long time. Loved the series, and the fact that you singlehandedly worked on most of the scanlation.

I think that’s where the problem comes in: You did everything on your own. To be honest, your translation does sound bad at times. But that’s because it’s not the translator’s job to do that. Generally, I believe that it is the editor/typesettor’s job to make it sound more natural. It’s always better to have a second pair of eyes do the smoothing of sentences before passing over to proofreading/QC.

So, if you don’t mind, I am willing to help with cleaning and typesetting for Koi Neko, so that you only need to concentrate on telling me what the moonrunes on the pages roughly mean.

    Gaku’s amateur editor,

Thanks for your hard word, mang. I’ve been following Ichinensei for years on your site (although I only commented one other time about 2 years ago). All I have to say is: the wait was worth it; such a sugary sweet ending.
