New: Koi Neko v03 ch25

Ch25

Kusakabe Miiko makes her debut.

Current Status:
Neko de Gomen ch08 (Still being proofread…)
Wadatsumi ch04 (24/30 pages complete)
Koi Neko chapter 26 (8/24 complete)

Yeah, the only real progress I made is two more pages for Koi Neko. =P

@Hiryuu: Though, Freud might throw a fit over the word subconscious. n_n;

@Sandor: I translate nekomimi as nekomimi or cat ears. Usually, it’s the word nekomusume that translates as catgirl. Personally speaking, when I read “catgirls growing out of his head”, the scene from FLCL, where that kid had like an entire alien invasion growing out of his head, came to mind. Another funny mistake I made was when I unintentionally wrote costumer instead of customer in the second chapter of Catling (what’s funny about this is that Kanako/Catlung could be described as someone who makes costumes).

Oh, yeah, this is what BakaRaptor had to say about the genderbending stuff.

@dayrains: Ah, interesting. I wonder if any of Sumino Yuuji’s new works are going to get compiled at some point.

@Calc-Yolatuh: Thanks for confirming the functionality of the site.

  2. It’s mid-week and the package hasn’t arrived yet (though, of course, as soon as I say that it’ll arrive immediately). There’s no tracking information (I’m cheap and the shipping wsa free) so the information before was just a rough estimate. I’ll provide another update as soon as the situation changes.

  5. Not a harem – our hero has made his choice, and clearly declared it.

  6. Declaration of choice doesn’t keep it from being a harem manga, as the other women may be happy to be his lover/mistress/toy. For way too many examples, see:

BTW, someone’s uploaded Seishun Binta on Mangahelpers, if anyone’s still interested…

  7. Harem? Bad, evil, unwanted harem?

    Girls Saurus (PHOBIA)
    Girls Saurus DX (PHOBIA)
    * “My uterus is throbbing for you!” Same woman author as Bitter Virgin, which also had Evil Harem Syndrome (rape victim, stalker, childhood friend)

    Rosario + Vampire (Oops factor)
Rosario + Vampire 2nd Season (Oops factor)
    * “It’s terrible! Sex education! Our son needs sex education, aaaaggh!!”

Mai Otome (any spin or re-spin, sex=love)
    * No. No quote for you. Just pick one and read about ten pages.

Tenchi Muyo! (select series, sometimes he’s glad)
    * Who HASN’T said “Please, Tenchi…”

    Sekirei (due to moralfag constraints)
    * Dude, a guy turned into a girl just to join his harem. He mostly just wants to go home.

Negima! (25 14yo shotacon girls and counting)
    * “EEeee! His you-know-what is getting you-know-what-er…how cute!!” A gender-reversed implementation of this could only be sold at Comiket.

Okitsune-Chu! also qualifies. One girl on his mind, two in his lap, ten on his face.

Nagasarete Airantou (last man on earth?)
    * Let me put it this way: Ah! Megami-sama (Ah My Goddess) has more/better/faster development, and that author is actively trying to drive his fans to suicide with his drawn-out progress.

Zettai Karen Children (raunchy powerpuff girls)
    * I…I don’t know how to characterize this one. I just feel sorry for the protagonist.

    ……

So, like 1 in every 3 boys’ comics. I value the use of Rosario + Vampire as the placeholder for the trope, but I dispute the inclusion of Happy Lesson in that list. Happy Lesson is more about having too many parents, or very nearly being adopted by lesbians.

A few weeks ago, I saw a very plain female-led story called B-Men Kazoku. A girl desperately out for sex, but everyone else is more interested than her target.

*huff huff* Looks like Koi-Neko is headed that direction, with three girls already established as love interests.

Now that I’ve written too much, I’ll just slink off and shove my head through a door :)
