New: Ichinensei ni Nacchattara v05 ch32

Ichinensei ni Nacchattara v05 ch32

Updated Ichinensei’s project page with the cover for the 6th volume. The 6th volume is due to be released on the 12th of July, so I pre-ordered it along with a couple books due to be released in August. This means it’ll be a while before I have additional copies of Greed Packet to use for scanning purposes.

Koi Neko’s next chapter has been giving me a lot of trouble, which is why this update took so long.

——————————————————–

@Kuma: You’re welcome. Speaking of Greed Packet, I found out that Dengeki’s Maou webpage actually had single page samples of all their releases. Some of which included either the single colour page, or the double colour pages (some of them in a decent resolution) for Greed Packet Unlimited. I’ll see if I can get all of this sorted out for the next update.

@Morwood: Thank you for the heads up. I prefer reading and editing the compiled version, but I’ll use the colour pages from the magazine scans as soon as v06 of Ichinensei appears online.

@Lordie: I edit with Photoshop7 manually with a mouse. I would think the task would be significantly easier with a tablet and digital pen, especially for the redrawing parts.

  6. Many thanks for the new chapter.

Taruby: Tablets can help a lot, but you basically need a Wacom Intuos or Cintiq to justify it. Rather pricey if this is a hobby. There are some things that GIMP or InkScape can probably do much better than Photoshop, and I personally use Painter for some projects. The best part with GIMP and InkScape is that they’re free, and they shouldn’t brick your system if you’re running Windows. (Oh the deadly land of Linux) Now if you’re working inside MacOS you have my sympathy.

  7. I used to edit manga a lot in the past, and I bought a standard tablet. Not a super fancy wacom, and I didn’t really find the tablet helped. It actually made it harder since the tablet was much smaller than whatever image I was working on. Who knows, maybe a wacom would in fact be awesome and I just suffered from cheaping out.

  8. I’ve been waiting for Taruby to point out that the apartment building that Iori’s mother lives in is the same as the one in Okusan ;-)

  9. *facepalm* You’re right!

anon, yes there is a huge difference in performance. With even a Graphire and tablet-enabled drawing software, you can do things a mouse was never made for. The Wacoms have a fine grid with smooth motion, pressure-sensitive effects (allows brushstroke-style lines and variable airbrush strength), and include both pen and mouse. The largest tablets are bigger than most printer paper, and the Cintiq is a tablet screen as large as 50cm+ (20 inches or more).

Of course the prices begin ~$100 USD for a basic Graphire, and can rise to >$2000 USD last time I looked.

  12. Photoshop 7. I used that for a long time, until I recently (a few years ago?) upgraded to CS3.

Also while Wacoms are great, but at lower price ranges you can find much better tablets for the same price from other companies.

My tablet is ‘very’ useful for editing/drawing, and it was about 60 USD (battery-less pen, tilt sensor, 1024 levels, 5″ x 4″) some time ago. It is a hanvon (hanwang) graphicpal GP0504, however finding drivers was initially difficult. If you ever get one I can point you to where to find those.

I think screen based tablets are much better, but they are far to expensive for use in a hobby (+1000 USD). I have seen and used the more expensive model up close, and its a dream.

  15. DIT above me, is a bot. Also, have you seen the new series out from GachaGacha’s author? It’s called “Makyou no Shanana”, and it’s basically a girl (who of course looks like Akira-chan), fighting jungle beasts while wearing stylish scraps of leopardskin. After two chapters I still cannot tell if it will be fantasy or SciFi, but it’s set in the ’40s Amazon Rainforest. Just your classic superchick with her pro-wrestling-style fetish fuel.
